Forecast Update Tuesday May 12th, 2015 | Snowman Weather

Partly cloudy for the rest of today and seasonably cold followed by partly to mostly cloudy skies Wednesday with a chance for flurries. Snow then develops during the late morning hours Thursday and continues, but tapers off a bit, overnight Thursday with snow showers likely re-developing again by Friday afternoon and evening. There is a good chance for six inches or more at Main by Saturday morning. Dry weather returns Saturday except for a chance for a late afternoon showers, then scattered afternoon showers are expected each afternoon starting on Sunday and into the middle part of next week under seasonably cold temps with very minor accumulations possible, but not powder conditions. There is a slight chance for organized snowfall toward the end of next week, then fair and warmer weather is expected over the Memorial Day weekend (which will likely be the closing weekend).

Mammoth Lakes Today 5-4-2015

It s May 4th, 2015 at 8:03AM. Hello from Mammoth Lakes, California. We had a great weekend with highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s, no showers but we did have some build ups that got blown off to the east of town. This week we do expect things to start out warm, but a big cool down is on the way with temperatures dropping about 20 degrees by Thursday. This entire week offers up a chance of t-storms or just plain old showers late in the week. With the cool down we should see some snow showers over the entire area by Thursday.  If things set up just right we could see a few inches of snow on the ground at the ski area, the lakes basin and of course in the back country. For many of you, this is your favorite time of year- skiing & snowboarding in the am, and then biking, hiking, fishing and or paddle boarding in the afternoons.   Come on up and take it all in next weekend! The ski area still has a 12-40 inch base from Main Lodge up to the top of the ski area. The current snow surfac
