2-3 Feet of new snow now forecast over Mammoth Mountain this weekend.... | MammothSnowman.com

2-5-2015 at 5:30PM – Good evening everyone. We are now on track for the first real good storm of the winter. Most weather models are still in agreement that we could still see around 3-4 inches of water content over Mammoth Mountain by late Monday. We have two storms coming in and they will both be a bit warm. Snow levels look to bounce around over the 3 day event. It does look like it will be mostly snow with just a bit of rain above 9000 feet after noon on Saturday. This storm is still on track to bring in as much as 2-3 feet of Sierra Cement from MC Coy Station to the top of Mammoth Mountain by Monday night. Weather Guy and Snowman will be coordinating several times a day and then updating this main page as we get more information. Click below for our FULL REPORT snowman out...

Wet & Windy Weather appears on the Way for Mammoth Mountain | MammothSnowman.com

Finally it appears we have a Winter Storm approaching Mammoth Mountain. Most weather models are in agreement that we could see 3-4 inches of water content over the top of Mammoth Mountain by late Monday. We have two storms coming in and they will both be a bit warm. Snow levels will start out around 7500 feet and could rise above the main lodge late Saturday into Sunday. The early hours of Monday should bring the snow levels down into town once again. So this will be a nice base storm that could drop as much as 2+ feet of Sierra Cement from MC Coy Station to the top of Mammoth Mountain by Monday night. A word of caution, many of the storms forecast this year have been a bust. Confidence is high that will not be the case this time, but you just never know for sure. I would wait to get all excited until we see how this event pans out for Mammoth. Weather Guy and Snowman will be coordinating several times a day and then updating this main page as we get more inf

2-4 Inches of New Snow from Tuesdays Snow Showers | MammothSnowman.com

We found 2-4 inches of fresh set up snow out on the mountain this morning from chair two up to the the top. The new snow really improved conditions on the groomers and a few of the runs off the top. Amazing how much better things got on the opened runs with just a little bit of new snow. For the rest of the week we are expecting highs to be into the 30's, and then 40s through the weekend. Lows will be in the mid to upper 20s through the weekend for continued snowmaking. On Thursday we get one more quick shot at about an inch of snow and then things will clear out for the weekend. Mountain winds will be out of the NE today into tonight with gusts to 50+ MPH over the upper elevations. The winds will back off this weekend to about half those speeds.

1-14-2015 Snowmans Mammoth Mountain Report | MammothSnowman.com

Snowmans Mountain Summary Good afternoon from Mammoth Mountain. Note much new to report, the post holiday snow conditions continue to be just about the same over the last week. The snow surface is still holding up a lot better then you would think at this point. We are skiing and riding on a machine groomed packed surface with just a few slick spots and a few floating rocks. Grooming along with continued snowmaking is keeping things in decent shape. Add in a couple inches of fresh and a dusting on a couple nights has also helped keep the open runs a lot of fun to ride. I have not talked to anyone who was not having fun out on the hill. Just lot’s of smiles and good people having a blast with no one around. The best snow and best coverage is from Chair 2 over to Chair 12 at this time. And yes it’s still worth it for a trip up to Mammoth Mountain right now, but do not bring your new skis or snowboard at this time.
